Welcome to Team Super Kara & Friends!
We're so excited that our very own Kara Nguyen is this year's Children's Miracle Network's Local Champion representing CHOC. She is truly honored to represent and to walk alongside you and thousands of others in the 2025 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, August 3rd, to raise funds for CHOC!
Riley Sophia brought so much joy and happiness to all those who knew her. She had the most infectious laugh, the biggest heart, and loved her family and friends in the most beautiful way. This fun-loving 3-year-old adored all things Frozen, including Elsa and Anna, cherished animals, especially the family’s sweet pups Susie and Boone, and loved riding her scooter in the neighborhood. She was the brightest ray of sunshine who made even ordinary days feel magical with her kindness, love, and light.
During her time at CHOC hospital this past June, Riley and her family were surrounded by the extraordinary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. From the dedicated and caring nurses to the compassionate child life specialists and the exceptional physicians, Riley’s family will be forever grateful for the incredible team that went above and beyond to provide quality care and comfort during these difficult times.
We walk not only in Riley’s memory, but we walk to support the incredible work CHOC does for children and families throughout Southern California.

Disneyland® Park: After the Walk
We're so excited that our very own Kara Nguyen is this year's Children's Miracle Network's Local Champion representing CHOC. She is truly honored to represent and to walk alongside you and thousands of others in the 2025 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, August 3rd, to raise funds for CHOC!
In past years, our team has walked in remembrance, honor, and celebration of beloved friends and family members. Each step we take is a tribute to their journey, their strength, and the lasting impact they’ve had on us. We walk not only to remember, but to raise awareness and support for the children and families served by CHOC. It's our way of keeping their memory alive while sharing in the magic and purpose of the CHOC Walk.
This year we want to honor and remember a strong, bright, and joyful little girl who has brought smiles, and loving memories to our community and friends. The heavens have gained a precious angel.
Please support Team Super Kara & Friends in this year’s CHOC Walk as
We walk in loving memory of Riley Sophia Lumbard.
