Team Hinkle - Welcome to our CHOC Walk Team Page!

Team Hinkle
We're excited to be participating in the 2026 CHOC Walk to raise funds for Rady Children’s Health (formerly CHOC), as a way to say "thank you" for the great care our daughter, Hannah, received with her medical emergency a few weeks ago.
For those of you who don't know, Hannah swallowed a CR2032 button battery after popping it out of a Ring Alarm Window Sensor and was rushed into emergency surgery to have it removed. While we are so grateful Alex reacted quickly, she still suffered significant damage to her esophagus and surrounding vessels, and is currently in recovery with a NG tube for feeding/nutrients.
We also want to take this opportunity to bring awareness and recognize all the wonderful work Reese's Purpose is doing to protect children from hidden dangers and threats to their safety. Following their tragic loss of Reese, this organization has led efforts to improve child safety by advocating for stronger protections against button battery hazards while expanding its work to address other dangerous children's products. Its achievements include helping pass Reese's Law, advancing the development of a safer button battery, increasing awareness among parents and medical professionals about battery ingestion risks, and funding the development of a medical device for faster detection of button battery ingestion. Please keep them in mind and consider donating to their great cause (https://www.reesespurpose.org/).
Any contribution to our fundraising efforts for the CHOC Walk is beyond appreciated. More than 2 million children a year depend on Rady's and our community's generosity is what provides access to the best possible care and services. You can donate directly by:

Many thanks in advance for helping us write a new future for so many children and their families.
With gratitude and all our love,
Alex, Kristyn, Henry & Hannah Hinkle
