We're so excited to be participating in the 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, July 21, to raise funds for CHOC!
Team BEaston was formed to support our CHOC warrior, Easton. At three days old, Easton was transferred from his delivery hospital to CHOC, where he stayed in the NICU for a week. During his time at CHOC, Easton underwent numerous tests and multiple MRIs, which determined Easton had experienced multiple strokes. When Easton was discharged from the NICU, his future was very uncertain. However, the wonderful team at CHOC has provided critical support to Easton and his family through every step of the journey.
Despite the challenges he has faced as a result of his strokes, Easton approaches each day with determination, positivity, enthusiasm, and strength, which serves as the ultimate inspiration to his family, friends, classmates, and acquaintances. Easton's perseverance has taught those who know him to appreciate and acknowledge the beauty in being a survivor, which is at the heart of Team BEaston.
We are continuously inspired by Easton and want to share his story as a platform to bring awareness to perinatal strokes, pediatric strokes, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and autism. We have championed Easton and shared his story, ups and downs alike, to create a positive narrative about those with disabilities with the goal of educating and encouraging acceptance. By displaying Easton's success with early intervention, therapy, and treatment, we hope to inspire other families and individuals trying to overcome strokes.
Through CHOC, we have met wonderful doctors, specialists, nurses, as well as families who have been affected by perinatal and pediatric stroke, and feel embraced by this special community. Through Team BEaston, we have collectively donated and raised approximately $6,100.00 for CHOC since 2018. However, there is always more work to be done in supporting this wonderful organization, and Team BEaston is up for the challenge!
We can't wait to reunite with our Walk community for an early morning stroll through Disneyland® park and Disney California Adventure® park. You won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind experience filled with special entertainment and surprises before the parks open to the public.
Every dollar raised from this magical event will support health care programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. More than two million children a year depend on CHOC. And our community's generosity is what provides access to the best possible care and services.
