We are so excited to be participating in the 2025 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, August 3, to raise funds for CHOC!
We are walking in Honor of Nora and her family.Molly’s best friend Emilia’s little sister Nora was born prematurely on April 7th, 2021, with Cerebral Palsy and stage 4 Intraventricular Hemorrhage, initiating a tumultuous first week of surgeries, tests, and consultations with numerous specialists. After grappling with consistent prognoses, Nora’s parents faced the agonizing decision with the guidance of a palliative care therapist.
The compassionate nurses, social workers, therapists, and staff at CHOC went above and beyond to accommodate their family during Nora's final moments. They provided them with precious mementos like imprints of her hands and feet, a recording of her heartbeat, knitted beanies, blankets, and a gown fashioned from a wedding dress to clothe her delicate form. As they bid Nora farewell, her big sister Emilia, received comforting toys and teddy bears, with a musician serenading them both with lullabies. Following her passing, they were granted the opportunity to give her a gentle bath, enveloped in profound peace.
Every gesture, no matter how small, orchestrated by the CHOC team, transformed their NICU journey into a serene and graceful transition for their baby girl.
The support and care provided by the CHOC team allowed them closure, cherished memories, and solace in Nora's passing.
