I'm so excited to be participating in the 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, July 21, to raise funds for CHOC!

I can't wait to reunite with our Walk community for an early morning stroll through Disneyland® park and Disney California Adventure® park. You won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind experience filled with special entertainment and surprises before the parks open to the public.

I walk in memory of my daughter, Avery, who was a patient at CHOC in 2011. Avery was diagnosed with Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), in November 2010 at the age of 6. After 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, we came home to CHOC to continue her care. Avery fought bravely for 6 months, but sadly she earned her angel wings on May 24, 2011.  Every year since our family and friends have gathered for the CHOC Walk to remember Avery, thank her care team, and to raise critical funds to make sure every child can get the amazing care Avery received. 

Every dollar raised from this magical event will support health care programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. More than two million children a year depend on CHOC. And our community's generosity is what provides access to the best possible care and services.
