Avery's Love Bugs

We're so excited to be participating in the 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, July 21, to raise funds for CHOC!

We can't wait to reunite with our Walk community for an early morning stroll through Disneyland® park and Disney California Adventure® park. You won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind experience filled with special entertainment and surprises before the parks open to the public.

We walk in memory of Avery, who was diagnosed in November 2010 with Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), at the age of 6. Avery received 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy at the National Institutes of Health, then returned home to CHOC for continued treatment. Sadly, after fighting bravely for 6 months, Avery gained her angel wings at the age of 6 on May 24, 2011. Every year since her friends and family have gathered at the CHOC Walk to remember her, thank her care team, and to raise money for the amazing hospital that took such amazing care of her.

Every dollar raised from this magical event will support health care programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. More than two million children a year depend on CHOC. And our community's generosity is what provides access to the best possible care and services.

You can help us exceed our fundraising goal for the benefit of the children's health and well-being.
