It’s CHOC Walk 2026!

Sadly, I’m not able to attend the 2026 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, August 2. Even though I can't be there in person this year, I remain deeply committed to supporting this meaningful event. My connection to the Koch family and Rady Children’s Health inspires me to take action from afar. By joining the fundraising effort, I can still make a real impact and help ensure families like the Kochs feel the community’s support during their journey.

I was introduced to the family 4-5 months ago and had the opportunity to get to know them better over the past few months. In that time, I learned that their daughter was diagnosed with cancer around Christmas 2025, and since then, their lives have been flipped upside down in a whirlwind of new and dramatic changes.

Having a family member who is immunocompromised affects everyone’s social interactions, including school, friends, sports, social get-togethers, and even shopping or eating at a restaurant.

Imagine being a teenager and not having the freedom to go to a friend’s house, attend a dance, or go to Disneyland! It’s a new chapter involving medicine and treatments, to find new and safe ways to spend time with friends.

It’s been a challenge for the Koch family as they maneuver this new path. CHOC has been instrumental in treatments and care, which is why the CHOC Walk is the perfect time to support and give hope for a promising future!

I can't wait to invite the Koch family to participate with our CHOC Walk community for an early morning stroll through Disneyland® park and Disney California Adventure® park.

That means each family member has a $400 goal. To participate in the CHOC Walk, each member must raise at least $125, which covers event entry and helps provide essential care for children. At the $400 milestone, each member not only receives a Disneyland Park Hopper ticket for a memorable day together, but contributes even more toward life-changing treatments, support services, and fun activities for families like the Kochs. Every donation helps us reach important goals, making a direct difference in the support and experiences the family can receive throughout their journey.

Every dollar raised from this magical event will support health care programs, education, and research at Rady Children’s Health, formerly CHOC. More than two million children a year depend on Rady's. And our community's generosity is what provides access to the best possible care and services.
