We look forward to this event each year as it is a time for us to give back to a hospital that gave us back so much. Levi was born with a severe congenital heart defect know as Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return and was quickly flown to CHOC where he received a lifesaving cardiac surgery. Through prompt assessment and intervention by the NICU team at my home hospital St. Mary's Medical Center as well as the contract they hold with CHOC allowed his cardiologist to give orders for meds and create a plan over the phone which kept him stable through his transport to CHOC where the cardiothoracic surgeon performed the surgery. 

Levi is now just shy of 4 years old, and it is anticipated that he likely will not need another cardiac surgery. As he continues to grow the repairs are growing with him. We still receive care through CHOC cardiology as well as genetics.
