AWS for Games is excited to announce our participation of the CHOC Walk in the Park for a third year! The CHOC Walk in the Park is a 32-year long tradition in partnership with Disneyland® Resort and the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), supporting health care programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. Participants will raise funds and commemorate with a 5k walk through Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure® Park on Sunday July 21st, 2024.
 
Each year, CHOC provides $143 million in total community benefit to support services including increased access to pediatric healthcare resources, behavioral health services and more. Of that, more than $128 million--nearly 90%--covers care for families with little or no insurance. Support and expertise from CHOC has even impacted the lives of AWS for Games employees, and last year as Amazon we raised $11,300 for CHOC!
 
AWS for Games is participating as a member of the Gamers for CHOC in initiative. Gamers for CHOC brings together game studios and companies from Southern California and around the world for a cause close to the community. This year to bring the community and industry together, we will be hosting a Gamers for CHOC Brunch at Splitsville in Downtown Disney immediately following the walk!

How You Can Join

1. Join the team and raise funds! Head to the team page ( https://www.chocwalk.org/awsforgames) and click Join Our Team. You can now invite friends and family to make a donation by clicking the $ next to your name on the team page. Members of the team who raise $150 or more will be eligible to join us at the in-person event on Sunday July 21st, 2024, and will also receive a CHOC Walk in the Park t-shirt!

2. Invite your friends and family! The Friends of AWS for Games team is open to all, not just employees. Keep in mind, each separate individual over 3-years-old must register on the team and meet the $150 minimum raised amount.

3. Make a donation! If you can’t join us at the event in person, you can still make a donation by either registering to join the team, or simply clicking the $ next to the name of a team member you’d like to contribute to.
