Hi friends and family,
This year, our CHOC Walk team carries even deeper meaning for our family.
For 24 years, we have walked as Team Matthew in honor of my son, Matthew, who spent his life receiving care at CHOC. CHOC was more than a hospital to our family — it was a place filled with compassion, hope, and extraordinary people who loved and cared for Matthew every step of the way.
Now, CHOC has become a part of our story once again through Matthew’s nephew(my grandson) Krew, who was born with spina bifida and anorectal malformation. Krew spent his first 25 days at CHOC, has had two hospital admissions since, and still has a surgery ahead of him, possibly more. Through every challenge, CHOC has continued to surround our family with incredible care, support, and love.
Matthew is forever our angel, and Krew is forever our miracle.
We are so grateful for everything CHOC has done for both of them, and participating in the CHOC Walk is one small way we can give back and help support other families walking similar journeys.
If you would like to support us, we would be so honored to have you join Matthew’s Krew for this year’s walk or make a donation in support of our team. Every contribution — whether through walking beside us or donating — means so much to our family.
Thank you for loving and supporting our family through all of these years. 💙💚
