I’m walking in the CHOC Walk this year, and I want to share why this cause is so deeply personal to me.
 

When my granddaughter was just three weeks old, she had to undergo surgery and spent three long weeks in the hospital. It was one of the most emotional and overwhelming times our family has ever faced. As scared as we were, we were surrounded by the most incredible doctors, surgeons, and nurses.
 

The staff didn’t just care for her; they cared for all of us. They made our stay as comfortable as possible with their kindness, compassion, and love. They took the time to walk us through every step, answering questions, easing our fears, and making sure we never felt alone during such a difficult time.
 

Because of them, we were given hope and strength when we needed it most. We were so fortunate to receive that level of care, and not every family has an easy journey.
 

That’s why I’m raising money, to help ensure other children and families receive the same life-saving care, support, and compassion that meant everything to us.
