We are so excited to be participating in CHOC Walk's 30th anniversary event - CHOC Adventure in the Park presented by the Disneyland® Resort to raise funds for CHOC!

We walk for Duncan Starkenburg. Duncan was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in June 2019, just after his eighth-grade graduation. In one of my visits to his hospital room, I noticed a sign for the CHOC Walk and quickly created an account and gathered a team. People from our school, family, and neighborhood joined Team EvilDunk, a name I came up with honoring his gamertag (or username) for most of the videogames he plays. In less than a month after its formation, Team EvilDunk had over 70 members and was able to raise around $20,000 for CHOC Chidren's Hospital. The support was overwhelming and I'm positive we made a huge impact on kids' lives. Duncan is now a senior in high school and will be attending the fundraiser this year. As his family, we owe everything to CHOC.

After a brief hiatus from the CHOC Walk due to a little thing called a global pandemic, Team EvilDunk is back for the CHOC Adventure in the Park! While I don't expect nearly as much overwhelming support this year as I received in 2019, I'm still excited to help out in any way I can. If you are so compelled, joining the team is simple and donations are greatly appreciated, but just your support and spreading the word is more than enough.

There is an important change from the 2019 CHOC Walk. In 2019, a minimum of $99 was required to participate in the walk; however, If you wish to participate in the Adventure this year, the minimum requirement is $200. This is a pretty lofty goal, so don't worry: attendance is in no way expected of any team members this year. If you wish to join, feel free, we would love to see you! However, if you cannot, I absolutely understand and appreciate your support nonetheless.
