Team Captain Leo! Olive's Army CHOC Walk

Ever since my little sister was born we were introduced to a whole new world of wonder but also a world full of medical procedures and Drs. Appointments.
My role of big brother came with a lot more than helping mom with diapers, it was about helping mom with daily breathing treatments and making sure Olive was protected.
Olive was born with a genetic condition called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia which affects the ciliary in your lungs and through out your body. Once it was confirmed she carried the genetic component for this condition it was most likely I did to.
After extensive testing with CHOC's pulmonary, cardiac, and genetisis departments, it was confirmed I carried the same exact gene she did.
Dr. Chin became my Pulmonologist as well and I am evaluated every three months at the PCD clinic at CHOC. The PCD Clinic is one of two in CA. The other is located at Standford. Our Pulmonologist, Dr. Chin is personally responsible for creating this opportunity at CHOC and we are very fortunate she is our #1 Doctor!
Along with Pulmonary, I also see an ENT specialist at CHOC. I also had an echo done at CHOC to rule out the reversal of my organs, that's just my sister.
It's cool to see where my sister has spent so much of her time and I love to visit the gift shop after I have a procedure. The doctors, nurses, and staff at CHOC have been so supportive. I'm very grateful to the Child Life specialist who make my visits less scary, especially when I have to do throat cultures. The last visit, I was brave enough to perform my own swab!
I am so excited to be participating in CHOC Walk's 30th anniversary event - CHOC Adventure in the Park presented by the Disneyland® Resort to raise funds for CHOC! Like the protective, loving brother I am :) I will be leading Olive's Army as Team Captain. (I like to be the boss.)
Even as the pandemic continues to linger, and has changed our world, one thing remains unchanged: children still count on CHOC to help them get better. Which is why this year’s event will be reimagined so we can once again join together as a community.
Please help me exceed my fundraising goal of $200 for the benefit of the children and families of Southern California, just like Olive and I by:
-Donating now by clicking the "Donate" button above or
-Joining me at this year's event - SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, August 27, 2022 – for the CHOC Adventure in the Park presented by the Disneyland® Resort.
My personal goal is $200 which ensures my ticket into the celebration that night to lead my team!
You are making a difference for my sister and I and we truly appreciate your support.
Many Thanks and High Five's!
