Our family is so excited to be participating in the 2023 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, August 20th, to raise funds for CHOC!
Our twin boys, Grayson and Jackson were born at 29 weeks and 6 days, leaving them in the NICU for 51 and 53 days. Having dealt with TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) and in utero laser ablation surgery, it wasn't discovered until birth that Grayson had Amniotic Band Syndrome (ABS) on his upper left arm and partially on his thigh. ABS is when small fibers from the sac break off and wrap around fetal extremities, which caused loss of blood flow to the rest of his arm. A few months later, due to a congenital lung malformation, he also underwent surgery to remove the lower left lobe of his lung.
Grayson's arm and muscle movement was saved and both boys are healthy, almost two year olds! We couldn't be more grateful, thankful, and blessed for the amazing CHOC surgeons, educated doctors, and nurses that felt like family. There are not enough "thank you's" for the heroes who helped save our babies lives.
Proceeds from this event will support health care programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. Please help us exceed our fundraising goal for the benefit of the children and families of Southern California by:
- Donating now by clicking the "Donate" button above or
- Joining us in our walk at this year's event at the Disneyland® Resort by registering here (https://www.chocwalk.org/Account/Register) under the team name "Yesweretwins."
A heartfelt thank you in advance for contributing in raising money for the children and families of Orange County, and helping us give back to those that made a difference in our lives!
With much love and gratitude,
The Landgraf Family
