I'm so excited to be participating in the 2023 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, August 20, to raise funds for CHOC. The CHOC Walk is back!

I can't wait to reunite with our Walk community for an early morning stroll through Disneyland® park and Disney California Adventure® park. You won't want to miss this unique experience filled with entertainment and surprises before the parks open to the public.

Proceeds from this magical event will support health care programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. Help me exceed my fundraising goal for the benefit of the children and families of Southern California by:

-Donating now by clicking the "Donate" button above or
-Joining me at this year's event at the Disneyland® Resort by registering here

Many thanks in advance for helping us make a difference for the children and families of Orange County!

With Gratitude,

Briana

1 year ago, my daughter was born. During my wife’s final ultrasound, the tech noticed something and brought the DR in to verify that our sweet daughter Peyton Grace was going to be born with only one kidney. With only having one kidney, her life will be forever complicated. She faces a slight chance of a normal life with her other kidney as long as it grows almost 2X the size of an average size and her number look good. The other possibility is that she faces total and complete kidney failure. Causing our 1 year to end on on the transplant list. As of now her kidney is only in the 41st percentile when it needs to be in the 95th. Which is extremely concerning. As a parent it’s hard to realize that she’s extremely sick because day after day she will cuddle, laugh, play and is always happy. But it’s also terrifying, because one bad bump on her working kidney, or roughing around too hard with her sister, could cause damage to only working kidney. Every fever, is an immediate ER visit for Peyton, where we have been so many times that most of the head nurses know us by now. Through all the pain, and stress that both myself and wife go through every single day, the only light we’ve had is CHOC. They have helped guide us through a lot of hurdles and Peyton wouldn’t have the best care possible without them.

There aren't many that know but, on February 7th, 2022 we became a part of the CHOC Family. Our Daughter, Peyton Grace Harrop, became a patient, and we embarked on a journey that we continue to this day. Our sweet girl was born with only one kidney and as much as we would love to say that everything is great we are unfortunately currently going through some tough hurdles. She has her next check-in on September 7th where she will have some more testing done to see how things stand with her kidney. We are hoping for the best and that her body will adapt to life with a single kidney. With all that this has come with, we know we are blessed and that things can be much worse. We would like your help raising as much as possible for this amazing organization! We certainly couldn't walk through this journey without them and their wealth of knowledge.
Thank you
