Welcome to Nilu's CHOC Walk 2019 Page! We work hard to fundraise for this amazing hospital because Nilu is a CHOC success story if there ever was one! In 2014 at just 2 months old, Nilu was diagnosed with coronal craniosynostosis. After consulting with the surgeons at CHLA, we were told to wait 8 months and then she would undergo a 5+ hour surgery that would involve operating on the entirety of her skull. Mom did not like that answer. After some research, she found Dr Muhonen, head of CHOC Neurosurgery; who offered us a less extensive option. We've never regretted our decision and have made it our mission to give back every year. The fundraising efforts of the CHOC Walk make an immediate impact on families going through the most challenging time in their lives. CHOC provides the highest level of care not only to patients, but to the siblings, parents, and extended family that make up their critical support teams.
