This year, I made a promise to myself and to my family that I would devote more time to charity and giving back. I am so excited to be participating in the CHOC Walk in the Park at the Disneyland with my daughter, Sofia, on August 11th to raise funds for the children of CHOC. The fundraising efforts of the CHOC Walk make an immediate impact on families going through the most challenging time in their lives. CHOC provides the highest level of care not only to patients, but to the siblings, parents, and extended family that make up their critical support teams. I have personally, recently, experienced what it is like to enter through those magical doors and be treated with the utmost care and positivity. From the fish tank in the lobby to the cartoons you can watch while you wait to be seen, it's an an effort to calm the anxieties we all feel in those hospital waiting areas. Sofia visited Children's Hospital LA this year, and was filled with curiosity and worry for the children we saw in the hallways and exam rooms so much, that I decided now would be perfect time, to implement the idea of helping those in need at every possible opportunity.
