I am so excited to be participating in the 2019 CHOC Walk in the Park at the Disneyland Resort on August 11th to raise funds for CHOC Children's Hospital, a place that saved my niece's life. Almost a year ago, I was blessed with the cutest niece (I mean look at that profile pic) named Blakely. She was born with a condition known as Focal Cortical Dysplasia which occurs when the brain does not form properly. Two and half months ago we were told that half of Blakey's brain would have to be removed in order for her to live a seizure free life. Thanks to the talented Doctor's and staff at CHOC hospital and a whole lot of prayers, Blakey had a successful surgery and is now seizure free. Blakely's mighty spirit reminds us that we can make the impossible possible with a little faith and courage. For anyone who has ever had to face or sit with the "unknown," please know that the fundraising efforts of the CHOC Walk offer immediate relief to families going through the most challenging times in their lives.
