I am so excited to be participating in my 4th CHOC Walk in the Park at the Disneyland Resort on August 11th to raise funds for CHOC Children's Hospital! The fundraising efforts of the CHOC Walk make an immediate impact on families going through the most challenging time in their lives, regardless of ability to pay. CHOC provides the highest level of care not only to patients, but to the siblings, parents, and extended family that make up their critical support teams. **CHOC recently opened the only Mental Health Inpatient Center in OC that can accommodate children under age 12 with the help of donor funds. Half of adults who struggle with a lifetime mental health illness had symptoms before age 14. **CHOC will open the Thompson Autism Center in late 2019 with the help of donor funds, to address autism-related needs in the region and help every child and family achieve the best possible quality of life. The center will serve the whole child and family through integrated care planning with treatment of co-occurring conditions across CHOC specialties and a focus on children's social and emotional needs. One in 59 children will be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, 1 in 37 boys and 1 in 51 girls.
