I'm so excited to be participating in the 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, July 21, to raise funds for CHOC!

I’m taking part in this year’s CHOC Walk in support of pediatric mental health, and I ask for your support in donating so that CHOC can provide more relief to kids who want treatment now for long-term health.

Most of you know my mental health journey. Most of it had been going to therapy in recent years, and with each session, I have found that a lot of my depression came from unresolved childhood traumas. I know I’m not alone when I say that if I had been able to raise my hand sooner and had access to counseling as a kid, I would have had the tools to maneuver through early adulthood better.

When I’ve gotten the chance to meet CHOC kids and their parents over the years, I immediately want to see them thrive and maybe not make the same mistakes I did so they can. I hope many of them today who are getting treated by CHOC’s robust inpatient and comprehensive outpatient mental health programs can raise their hands in bravery and get the help they need.

The truth of the matter is that access to mental health treatments, for adults and kids, is very limited due to treatment costs. Many of the kids that CHOC sees are being seen with very little support from insurance. CHOC is a hospital of choice for so many families across the country because they don’t turn away families who cannot pay for life-saving treatments. It’s a hospital that uniquely uses the philanthropy of others to go directly to the care of thousands of children every year.

So that’s why I’m walking the CHOC Walk this year, friends. I walk to spread awareness, but more importantly, I walk to raise money so that more kids can walk through the door of happiness and hope regardless of their family’s ability to pay for that door to be opened.

Would you please consider donating? You can do so using the DONATE button on top of this page.

Here's a link where you can find more information about the pediatric mental health services that your generosity will go towards.

Thank you on behalf of the generations of children who'll get to experience a full life of love because of your loving gesture.

So here’s to life once more. And long live childhood (through pediatric mental health)!
