I'm so excited to be participating in the 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort on Sunday, July 21, to raise funds for CHOC!
When Miah was 1 week old we noticed she was having trouble eating and breathing. After several doctor appointments and follow ups, Miah's pediatrician advised us to take her to CHOC. At CHOC we were told that she was experiencing dysphasia, hypotonia, central sleep apnea, and countless other symptoms that were making it harder for her to grow up healthy.
Miah remained hospitalized at the PICU where she was provided life changing surgeries and medical interventions in order for her to stabilize and to grow up healthy. We were told that she might not walk and that she might not have a normal childhood. But Miah slowly showed everyone that she is strong and can over come any challenges she faces.
Even though Miah doesn't have a medical diagnosis and we don't know why she was experiencing those difficulties, Miah has grown up and is proving that she is a strong little girl. Miah, now 3, is a strong will girl. She loves to dance, sing, and paint. She enjoys spending time with her parents, sissy, her friends, and cousins.
Every dollar raised from this magical event will support health care programs, education, and research at CHOC and CHOC at Mission Hospitals. More than two million children a year depend on CHOC. And our community's generosity is what provides access to the best possible care and services.
You can help me exceed my fundraising goal for the benefit of the children's health and well-being by:
-Donating now by clicking the "Donate" button above or
-Joining me at this year's event at the Disneyland® Resort by registering here
Many thanks in advance for helping us write a new future for so many children and their families.
With Gratitude,
Miah
