I I am so excited to be participating in the 2019 CHOC Walk at the Disneyland Park Resort on August 11th to walk in memory and honor of our unicorn Giselle!
Our unicorn, Giselle, On March 9th 2018 was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer) which is an inoperable brain tumor located in the brain stem. Giselle endured many rounds of radiation and chemotherapy. Giselle has spent her terminally-ill disease in and out of CHOC Children's Hospital. Through all of this she remained courageous and strong-willed. Sadly, God gained an angel on February 8th, 2019 at Texas Children Hospital as my daughter wasn't able to win this battle of cancer. Our journey would not have been the same without our amazing oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncology, physical and occupational thearpy, nurses, child life, her supporters and beloved family.
CHOC was a home to my daughter and us. A home that possibly did everything they could to give our daughter a second chance to overcome and triumph this malicious cancer. A home where it felt like home despite every fulffillment of illness, diseases, disorders, and etc. A home where a piece of our hearts will forever live there for eternity.
This is why we walk for CHOC Children's Hospital.
The fundraising efforts of the CHOC Walk make an immediate impact on families going through the most challenging time in their lives. CHOC provides the highest level of care not only to patients, but to the siblings, parents, and extended family that make up their critical support teams.
